In the Kozjansko park, visitors are invited on a trip to the
Podsreda Castle, which is considered to be among the most important examples of Romantic architecture in Slovenia. Today the castle lives a full and rich life. This is especially true in the summer when the sound of various musicians fills its walls.

The holy mountains above Bistrica ob Sotli were settled already in Roman times and are now considered one of the oldest pilgrim centers in Slovenia. They now boast the pilgrim’s Church of the Virgin Mary as well as four chapels.
Peculiar attractions of the Bizeljsko-sremiška tourist wine roads include the sandy caves made up of silicate sand,
which are the so-called “repnice” (a place to store turnips). Approximately 200 years ago the farmers used to dig these caves in order to store field produce and fruit. Today there exist some 150 of these “repnice” with 30 of them still in use. Farmers now also use this method for the storage of wine.
The outdoor museum in
Rogatec presents to visitors the life of farmers and tradesmen from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century. The center of the museum is made of wood with a straw roof and coated in a clay plaster which was whitened with lime.
