Making wooden bowls and other vessels is one of the oldest handicraft activities in the Ribnica Valley. Following this tradition, Franc Jaklič manufactures as many as twenty-five different types of wooden vessels. On the tour of his workshop, he presents visitors the history and basic techniques of manufacturing wooden vessels and shows them the unique tools and devices used in the process. He excels in the special manual skills required and is extremely knowledgeable about the types of wood he uses.
