Dane is an elongated village on the sunny side of the hill Grublje (359m). It was first mentioned in 1252 as a property of a cloister. At the beginning of the village, beside the pil, is a baroque sign from 1736, while on the opposite side stands a stone cross from 1769. Most houses are new, but the old Karst houses are well-preserved. The water from the water pools and wells surrounded by a wall is used by the local people for watering plants. On the Grublje is a deep abyss Petrinova jama (Petrin’s cave) and
on the plain Gabrk is the Golobnica cave. The local people are proud of the local community centre with the asphalt playground where they organize various events and dances.
