Dokležovje is autonomous parish, and used to known for troughmaking. Among the cultural monuments of the past there are the church of St. Štefan built in 1844 next to the graveyard in the middle of the village, and Roman mounds which are supposed to have been situated along the Roman road between Gornja Radgona and Lendava.
