 In 1247, Ljubno is mentioned as a seat of administration of the feudal lords of Gornji Grad, but the settlement is certainly much older. It lies at the confluence of the Ljubnica and Savinja rivers below an imposing group of mountains where trails for pleasent walks lead througt unspoiled nature. Ljubno is inextricably linked to the lumber industry. Three centuries ago, the town was already a recongnized center of wood trading and rafting. In 2001, a museum exhibition was arranged in memory of this work.
